Your overnight stay at Barnham Broom, arrival to check out
Before you arrive
Two things benefit from a phone call in advance. Spa treatments should be pre-booked, since the treatment suites fill up and the spa keeps shorter hours than the hotel. Tee times should be reserved too, and the courses have a dress code, so pack accordingly: no denim, trainers or sportswear. Non-members are welcome to play on payment of a green fee.
It's also worth knowing that dogs aren't permitted on the golf courses or anywhere in the resort, so this isn't a stay to bring a dog along to.
Arrival, parking and an early check-in
Rooms are ready from 3pm. There’s ample free parking at the front and to the side, including EV charging facilities, so you don’t need to plan around a car park or pay on arrival.
If you get here before three, you don’t have to sit in the car. Leave your bags at the luggage store near reception and start your stay early, whether that’s Afternoon Tea in the Brasserie Lounge, a swim, or a walk around the grounds.
Your room for the night
There are 46 bedrooms and suites, all air-conditioned. Every room has tea and coffee making facilities, a desk and safe, spa robes and The White Company toiletries, with a bath and shower in the bathroom.
The difference between categories is mostly space and floor. Standard Rooms sit on the upper ground floor and Superior Rooms on the ground floor, both available as a double or twin. Junior Suites, the Valley Suite and the Hill Suite are on the first floor and offer more room, with a seating area in the suites and a semi-partitioned sleeping area in the Hill Suite. If stairs are a consideration, mention it when you book, since some rooms are reached by stairs only. You can compare the layouts on our room types page.
The afternoon and evening
The Edge Health & Fitness is on site, with an 11-metre indoor pool, sauna, steam room, bubble pool, three squash courts, two outdoor tennis courts, a gym with Precor and Jordan equipment, a spin studio and table tennis. If you’ve booked a room-only rate, access is a one-off £7.50 for the whole stay. Guests under 16 can’t use the gym or the poolside facilities, meaning the sauna, steam room and bubble pool, and children need to be with an adult. The pool runs both family and adult-only sessions, so check the swim timetable if you’re travelling with children. There’s more detail on our health and fitness club page.
The spa is a separate booking and is for guests aged 16 and over, using ESPA products across five treatment suites, one of which is set up for couples.
For dinner, the Brasserie serves seasonal British plates from 6pm to 9pm daily and is for ages 16 and over. The Sports Bar is the more relaxed choice, open from 10am to 9pm, with Neapolitan brick pizzas and a children’s menu. The Brasserie Lounge and Terrace covers the hours in between, with barista coffee and cake by day and Norfolk gins and cocktails later. Our dining page has the full picture.
If you’d rather not go down at all, light meals and drinks can be delivered to your room until 9.30pm, and a sandwich menu takes over after that.
Breakfast and check-out
Breakfast is served in the Brasserie from 6.30am to 9.30am Monday to Friday, and from 7.30am to 10.30am at weekends. If you need to leave before 6.30am, a continental breakfast can be arranged for an early departure.
Check-out is by 11am, and a later time can be requested at reception rather than assumed. Leaving your room doesn’t mean leaving the resort. Bags go back in the luggage store near reception, and you can carry on using the facilities for the rest of the day.
